Asra House Care Home is a truly unique residential care home for residents with an Asian lifestyle, providing residential care, dementia care and respite care. Asra House is proud to be rated 'Outstanding' by the Care Quality Commission.
In the CQC report, one of the home’s residents said simply: “This is the best care home in Leicester. I think that and so do my relatives.” While another said: “The staff are very caring. They treat me like I was their family member.”
. At the heart of our care home in Leicester is manager Ruth, who along with her team goes above and beyond to enrich their residents’ lives. The team embrace and celebrate every aspect of their residents’ cultural needs and beliefs.
Mealtimes – a highlight of the day at our care home in Leicester
Mealtimes are always special. Fantastic flavourful food is available daily at Asra House. The catering team's attention to detail ensures every resident's cultural food preferences are met. The smell of the home-cooked curries, daal dishes, samosas and chapattis fill the home.
Chutneys, raita and desserts are always made fresh by our dedicated catering team.
Some of the residents also love to help prepare the vegetables for these dishes, as they would have done before moving into a residential care home. This can be beneficial for our residents living with dementia.

The last five days of my stay here at Asra House has been a pleasant one. To highlight a few things, food:- very good, just like home-cooked (made) good for people who are convalescing. The very good management team who take special care of your wellbeing. Other teams who take and make a special effort are attending care staff, medical team dispensing medicine from time to time, cleaners etc. God bless all at Asra House.

Very pleased with the quality of care. The staff are all enthusiastic and go out of their way to accommodate requests. My mum is happy here and well looked after.

In later life, when you are looking for support and assistance to care for those closest to you – you must entrust, in times, some that you may never have met before.
In Asra, we found an extended family and wanted exactly what we wanted for our mum. In Asra, we found people that cared!

I have always been reassured by a sense of warmth, safety and comfort that is instilled from the staff when visiting Asra House.
Despite their very busy jobs they all seem to take the time to get to know residents personally and respond to their individual care needs. There is a strong relationship with families and staff have invited us on numerous occasions to eat at the home which is lovely. The food is of a very high standard. The environment always appears clean and tidy. Staff do their best to make residents feel at home as much as possible, which for me, is most important to our family.
