In the beginning, it was difficult to live here because of the different type of life, due to old age, but as time goes by I am used to it and happy to live over here. The manager, admin staff, senior staff, carers, kitchen staff and the residents are very friendly and excellent. Food is very good. The accommodation is nice, kept clean and tidy. I will recommend family and friends. Whenever my friends and family come to visit me, they are well impressed overall, we have received very good treatment. I am satisfied. I came here to stay here for three months but I am changing to live over here forever.

My mother has been at Asra House for 2 years now. She has vascular dementia, so she has some good days and some bad days but she is a strong-minded individual and generally very considerate with the staff. I am impressed with the Management team of the Home generally and the way the Home is run. As all of the Residents are Gujarati/Panjabi it is a credit to the staff that almost all of them speak Gujarati/Hindi/Panjabi and English, thus the Residents feel more secure and safe. The activities the Home provides are both religious/social based and are excellent coupled with the monthly Newsletter that is issued to the Residents’ relatives. Any health issue encountered with the Residents, the relatives are notified at once and help is given to the relatives in dealing with the matter at hand. I regularly visit my mother and talk to my mother over the phone and have no problems with booking a room visit. The Residents are treated with dignity and respect. Generally, the Home is in a good clean state.

I have found Asra House to be a very friendly care home to residents and visitors. Their principles and values are in tune with my expectations of how and what a care home should be. The food is of very good quality which I know my mother enjoys. Asra House activities are nothing short of amazing which keeps the residents entertained throughout the week.

My father was at this care home from 23/03/2020 to 20/04/2020. He was happy in the care home with their services and care that was provided to him. Unfortunately, he passed away on 20/04/2020. He was very unhappy at another care home and was treated badly there by the staff. As a result, he decided to move to Asra House Residential Care Home. My father and the staff at Asra House Residential Care Home communicated with one another very effectively. They also had banter with one another. As I mentioned earlier, my father passed away in the Care Home on 20/04/2020, but I spoke to my father and one member of staff in particular, the day before he passed away. My father’s final words on the phone on 19/04/2020 were, “Don’t worry about me, they are all looking after me here”.

I cannot comment on cleanliness and rooms as I have not had an opportunity to review these. Asra House facilities provide safe accommodation and friendly service from the support staff. It seriously lacks services on maintaining the mental and physical well-being of the clients, a point which I have already mentioned. This, in my opinion, is an important requirement for the residents. There have been some improvements but patchy.
