Holmwood Care Home have been an amazing care home for my mother who recently died. They have been so kind to her and me. Her physical needs were always met to a high standard, the food was of good quality and there were many activities which she always enjoyed and which made her final year as enjoyable as it could be. When she was dying they gave fantastic care and support to my mother and to me.
I cannot praise them highly enough.

It’s hard to express in words in words the kind, caring, loving (even though we weren’t long term residents) treatment and care shown by all staff members to my mum and all our family, it’s been the worst of times made manageable and will always owe Holmwood Care Home management and staff a debt of gratitude. Great building, great rooms and facilities. Thanks to all.

In the short time, our dad was in the care of Holmwood, we could not have asked for more. Every member of the team went above and beyond to care for our dad. He had the the very best people looking after him 24/7. Nothing was too much trouble, there was an activity program most days. Dad always enjoyed meal times, the variety of food on offer changed daily. We were informed of any changes, no matter how small. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for either respite or permanent care for a family member.

The staff are excellent with my parent, approachable, kind and helpful. We are always informed of health concerns. A major issue is the interpretation of Government guidelines re-visiting. Some of the group’s homes offered additional family members the opportunity of window visits from September-March, ours did not. This had a significant detrimental impact on the overall well being of our parent resident and family. Furthermore, I’d like to ask why a “pod” hasn’t been developed outside as ample homes offer this? It would be an overwhelming positive attribute under the circumstances.

Dad was admitted to Holmwood in December 2015. Holmwood was recommended. When looking around it residents visitors spoke very highly of it. Dementia takes away from the individual their ability to often communicate and give feedback re the care they are receiving. Therefore that trust goes on you the family to know you’ve given the one you love the best care they can have, when home is no longer an option. Day or night never heard raised voices. Always observed the staff taking time and patience with each person. We could see from my dad – his weight increase – how he looked – well presented – feedback from staff that he was getting excellent care. Kept the family informed of any issues. Spoke with us on anything we felt may be useful for staff to know to make him feel as comfortable as possible. Also in what turned out only to be a couple of months the excellent medical care from the GP service. All staff very approachable. No regrets – excellent choice thank you
