Mum has been a resident at Metchley Manor Care Home since April 2023. As a family, we knew it was the right thing to move Mum but still, not an easy decision. The director of community relations made the process of getting all the paperwork done as painless as possible. Much easier for us as we have power of attorney! A welcome information pack would have been useful, including information about meal times, Wi-Fi codes, a bit of a run down about staff members and sample menu, information about the cafe area being help yourself etc. however I do live three hours away and my brother is local so he may have had all that information!
When I visit, Mum is always clean and tidy and all members of staff know her name and chat to her when we are walking around the home.
The dementia coordinator is excellent at keeping in touch with her medical needs and telling us what the doctor has said, medication changes etc.
The home is clean and great, they have a minibus so Mum can still get out and about, walks, meals, theatre etc.
Mum is now safe and well cared for and that is important!

My friend transferred from a different care home and this was undoubtedly a daunting time for her. However, I was with her as she moved in and any reservations were soon quelled as her welcome could not have been warmer. The building itself is welcoming and you walk into somewhere with the feeling of a hotel with a lounge, coffee area, large dining room and sweeping staircase.
The member of the management team was very kind, understanding and encouraging and both on that day and since she has spent a lot of time with my friend getting to know her as a person and her needs.
The caregivers are all kind and attentive.
Her room is attractive and, as throughout the building, the standard of cleanliness is good.
The meals – always very important to the residents – are of a very good standard and very well presented in a very spacious dining room. The menu has good choices.
There is a range of activities to choose from and an impressive selection of outings suiting a mixture of tastes.

We needed to find a home for respite care for my mother as she had had a fall and we were going on a holiday that week. The staff at Metchley Manor were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Mum has now decided to stay permanently, giving me a lot of reassurance over her care and well-being.

My mother-in-law and father-in-law have lived In Metchley Manor for 10 months now and the service and staff are excellent. The food from the kitchens is top restaurant quality having eaten there on several occasions. There are so many activities it would be hard to participate in them all. As well as minibus bus trips most days which I know they love.
All the staff really do go the extra mile to make life there so comfortable and inclusive.
It has made a huge difference in our lives to know they are really looked after and we are kept very well informed about them at all stages.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Metchley Manor to anyone needing care for an elderly or infirmed person.

My parents moved into Metchley Manor initially for respite care but they enjoyed it so much they decided to stay there permanently. All the staff at the home have been so caring and compassionate and have helped my parents settle in and also support my husband and I, as we have found it difficult too. It’s hard seeing your parents get older and moving out of the family home.
I can sleep better at night knowing that my parents are being cared for I just wanted them to be wrapped up in cotton wool and be looked after and Metchley Manor certainly does this. There are lots of activities going on all day every day. Delicious meals are served in the dining room but it feels more like a restaurant. My parents really enjoy going out on the minibus and taking part in the activities. I thoroughly recommend Metchley Manor if you are looking for somewhere to care for your loved ones. Thank you all at Metchley Manor!
